Our client, a large oil and gas company, is currently seeking a Buyer/Expeditor for a 1-year contract in Calgary, AB.

Start: as soon as possible

End/Renewal: yearly renewal

Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours per day, based out of Calgary office but willing to travel to site if required

Job Description:

The contractor will oversee procurement by subcontractors and create and administer purchase orders. Responsibilities will also include detailed interface with the Procurement and Logistics disciplined engineers and various vendors, suppliers and service suppliers.

Specific duties required are but not limited to:

  • Track equipment and material ETAs as to ensure supply Contractors maintain their schedules
  • Ensures that arrangements are confirmed and understood by all parties prior to shipment of materials, and that appropriate Sustaining Capital project team members are aware.
  • Inform parties involved of anticipated delays in deliveries and initiating recovery plans to mitigate the effects of the delays with regards to construction needs.
  • Negotiates with supply contractors to achieve competitive pricing
  • Executes supply agreements as directed by the Sustaining Capital project team
  • Responsible for supply agreements from award until completion and contract close-out.
  • Communicate with Sustaining Capital project team to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions for the procurement of materials and equipment
  • Responsible for the documentation, tracking, review, and SM approval of supply agreement invoices
  • Maintain and updates internal SM Tracking logs.
