Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting a Project Engineer who is ready to join our global Operations business on an initial 12-month contract supporting our key clientele and anticipated to be an ongoing requirement. This role is based in our Perth office.

Wood delivers Brownfield Engineering, Procurement, Construction, optimisation and technical services to the oil and gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers, actively supporting operations in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Kazakhstan, and Sakhalin.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will work to support both multidisciplined Engineering and Project Management teams undertaking Projects and Studies in the Brownfield environment. Drawing on your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills you will work to d evelop and present engineering solutions addressing outlined brownfields engineering issues and acting as an interface to our clients.

What you will do:
    • Project cost and progress reports and forecasting
    • Schedule development and monitoring (small studies and projects) along with Contract specifications, negotiation and administration
    • Review / monitoring of engineering performance indicators
    • Cash flow development and reporting and participation in development of estimates
    • Monitoring of expediting and inspection of vendor data

Skills / Qualifications

You must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR), and able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship.

  • Will have 5+ years' of relevant Project Engineering experience with a background as a discipline Engineer
  • Engineering and/or Project Management skills demonstrated through evidence of qualification and/or certification from an engineering or project management related cours
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary project environment, ideally with site / commissioning experience
  • Ability to effectively manage within tight time frames and apply analytical decision-making skills
  • Effectively schedule work for small projects
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental issues
  • Well-developed computer skills (Excel, WP, PowerPoint) at minimum
  • Awareness of commercial contract terms and conditions and knowledge of engineering projects
