Position Description:

Portfolio Evaluations Geologist
We are seeking an Evaluations Geologist with expertise in evaluating, ranking and strategic planning for advancing unconventional appraisal programs to full field development projects, for our Portfolio Governance Group (PGG) within the Emerging Unconventional Assets Department (EUAD).
This group of experienced geologists and geophysicists are responsible for the evaluation and maintenance of the corporate Unconventional portfolio of opportunities. The creation of a well-balanced and high-graded portfolio of exploration through development locations, to meet and replace production, is required to maintain a system in which unconventional resource opportunities are strategically ranked and fed into the short and long-range de-risking plans.
Your primary role will be to manage the unconventional portfolio through technical, risk, resource and commerciality assessments integrated with strategic planning for de-risking and development.

Development Geologist
We are seeking a Development Geologist, with expertise in reservoir characterization and development of tight sand plays.
This Division is responsible for the characterization and development of an established tight sand play in the Kingdom, through initiating and executing integrated subsurface projects to guide development campaigns in order to meet gas production targets from unconventional resources. In addition, the division offers support to production engineering for stimulation and hydraulic fracturing operations.
Tight Sand Development Geologist primary role will be to tight sand reservoir characterization and generate and interpret fit-for-purpose geological models for reservoir characterization, field development plan and hydrocarbon in-place assessment by integrating sedimentology, petrophysics and geomechanics as well as drilling, stimulation, and production.

Exploration Geologist
We are seeking an Exploration Geologist, with expertise in advancing Unconventional exploration programs. You will be a team member under the Unconventional Exploration Division (UED) within the Emerging Unconventional Assets Department (EUAD).
This Division is responsible for the identification and evaluation of Unconventional Resources that fall within the broad spectrum of tight reservoirs to source plays within the Kingdom. We bring a new perspective to the Kingdom's, world-renown, conventional systems with an eye for unconventional opportunities. Integrated subsurface studies initiated by the group, often challenging previous biases, guide our portfolio development and support the proposal of new exploration wells. In addition, the division also compliments existing asset teams with ongoing appraisals and field development plans.
Your primary role will be to integrate regional to field-scale geological studies, correlate stratigraphic units, and work with multi-disciplinary teams to predict and identify prospective opportunities.

Unconventional Reservoir Geologist
We are seeking Geologist, with expertise in characterizing and advancing unconventional appraisal programs to full field development projects, for the Eastern Unconventional Characterization Division (EUCD) within the Emerging Unconventional Assets Department (EUAD).
EUCD is responsible for evaluation and de-risking of shale gas and liquid play concepts within the Kingdom, through initiating and executing integrated subsurface projects to support planning and execution of field development plans to meet production targets. In addition, the division supports drilling teams and production engineering for stimulation and hydraulic fracturing operations.
Geologist primary role is to integrate/generate appropriate subsurface data from regional to field-scale to perform geological evaluations, create fit-for-purpose geological models, in-place assessment for resources, flowback assessment, and participate to integrated reservoir studies.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:
• A Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related science, however an advanced degree is preferred and will reduce prerequisite work experience stated below by one year for a Masters degree and two years for Ph. D.
• 15 years of experience, with at least 5-10 years in unconventional plays, including shale or tight gas, with North American experience in multiple unconventional hydrocarbon basins required. We will consider candidates with more or less experience, depending on the quality of their experience.
• A background in play-based exploration for tight sand and/or shale, strategic planning for unconventional development, resource assessment and petroleum economics is essential.
• Experience in building, maintaining and evaluating large and complex geological models utilizing geological modeling software.
• High level experience in integrating regional to field-scale geological evaluations and applied petroleum systems analysis with knowledge of industry best practices in development optimization and operational efficiency with a high efficiency in using static modeling software such as Petrel and RMS
• Knowledge in the integration of sedimentology, depositional environments, petrophysics, geomechanics, basic geophysics and basic reservoir engineering.
• Experience integrating basic reservoir engineering and geology to tight and source rock reservoirs.
• Previous experience working with reservoir engineers and reserve auditors to determine reserve and resource estimations.
• Experience working with the production and drilling departments on well performance and optimization is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Please refer to position description above for your primary role.
