Wood is currently seeking Engineering Managers to join our Mining and Minerals team based in our Perth & Brisbane offices.
The incumbents work closely within the project and the engineering team to effectively deliver projects and studies and further improve the engineering systems, processes and support requirements in the office.

The Wood Mining & Minerals teams in Perth and Brisbane are developing projects from grassroots to help the transition into renewable energies and the latest technologies in energy production, storage and distribution. Lithium, rare earth elements, gold and vanadium are some of these examples.
We are developing new and novel processes and adapting current processes to these commodities to support this buoyant industry. We do not stop at beneficiation and we take it all the way to feedstocks for end users. We work for clients at different tier levels and who are progressing to get projects off the ground and into production.
Reporting to the Technical Director - Engineering functionally and to Project / Study Managers while working on projects, you will manage the engineering design for specific studies and projects to ensure that designs are in accordance with project requirements and company goals.
- Provide input to project activities through leadership in design
- Establish client requirements for documentation, design review and design deliverables
- Review all designs activities and ensure design deliverables are produced on time and within budget
- Effectively manage and lead a high performing team to achieve team goals
- Continuously work on improving engineering systems and methodologies
Skills / Qualifications
For be successfully shortlisted, we are looking for individuals with a strong track record with large scale mining clients and/or companies.
- Bachelor Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution
- 15 years design or project engineering experience, with 10+ years in the mining and metals processing field
- Working knowledge of the design, construction and commissioning processes
- Proactive and forward-thinking nature
- Excellent communication skills
- Interpersonal skills second-to-none
