Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking Project Managers in order to grow its Perth Mining & Mineral group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects.

We are offering full time positions for the right people, and we would like to speak to a Project Manager and a Senior Project Manager for a Perth-based role.

Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.

In this role, you will oversee the overall management and supervision of all activities required for the safe and timely execution of the project in compliance with its budgetary and engineering requirements to the client's satisfaction whilst maximising the profitability of the project.

In addition, you will also:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the project team in order to fulfill contractual commitments and to satisfy client and Wood requirements;
  • Plan, execute and manage the design, project services, procurement and construction functions;
  • Develop, maintain and implement the Project Execution Plan and Project Management Plans including the HSEC and QA Plans in accordance with Wood systems and procedures;
  • Control and coordinate communications with client, project team and other stakeholders to ensure the project is executed in accordance with overall objectives and commitments;
  • Manage the commercial aspects of the project and ensure compliance with client and Wood commercial requirements;
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities;
  • Provide effective management and control of suppliers and subcontractors


Skills / Qualifications

To successfully be shortlisted, you will have a strong track record of delivering projects on time and on budget, and have a strong understanding of mining projects across concept, study, up to final delivery. In addition, you will also have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering with a minimum of 15+ years post graduate experience
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the delivery of all aspects of multi-discipline projects
  • Proven leadership skills in site and project office based scenarios.
  • A high level of problem solving abilities
  • High level of numeracy / cost forecasting skills / financial understanding skills
  • Good Interpersonal and relationship skills across broad personnel demographics
  • Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity
  • Broad commercial knowledge of the industry sector
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ethical and professional attitude
