An exciting opportunity for experienced Offshore Radio Operator, to provide qualified communications support to the organisation, ensuring all team communication needs are met. This role also requires equal consideration to health, safety, environment, cost and people as part of the daily operations.

Specific accountabilities;

? Operate and maintain communications systems on the rig to level of competence.
? Responsible for safe team work with respect to operations.
? Maintain good two way communications with crew members and client representatives in order to maintain safe and effective operations.
? Responsible to maintain navigation and meteorological systems on the rig to level of competence, reporting defects to the Barge Engineer.
? Distribute communications and maintain confidentiality.
? Treat crew members with respect, fairness and professionalism.
? Participate and contribute to safety meetings.
? Maintain a clean and tidy area of responsibility.
? Monitor communications and weather notices as per rig's procedure.
? Participate in company approved and recommended training as required both onshore and offshore.
? Maintain regulatory compliance related to function.
? Provide guidance and support to fellow crew members as required.
? Ensure compliance with HSEQ Management System thus allowing for safe, efficient operations.
 
Succesful applicants MUST have:
? 2 years radio operator experience, preferably in offshore oilfield environment.
? Possession of a valid Radio Operator license, GMDSS and Offshore Survival Certificate (BOSIET, FOET etc)
? Good safety record from past operations.
? Working knowledge of HSEQ practices common to the industry.
? Leadership & teamwork skills/behaviors which support team based organization.
? Familiar with quality processes & application of continuous improvement tools.
? Effective communication skills (written & oral)
? Ability to understand & react with diverse groups & operations, ability to recognize & resolve conflict.
? Good computer skills.
