Weatherford are hiring a Global Talent Development Manager to be based in our Houston office. This is a highly rewarding role that will suit a creative and innovative individual working at all levels of the business.

The Global Talent Development Manager is responsible for designing and delivering talent identification and management systems, policies and procedures. This is a global role operating under the direction from the Global Talent & DEI Director. Leads and manages a defined set of core talent management initiatives designed to assess, categorize, grow and develop current and future leaders to enable better business impact and a higher quality bench of key professional and leadership talent. Requires a strong ability to collaborate across the enterprise and lead virtually as most initiatives will be developed globally and implemented locally. Some initiatives may require geozone, product line or function specific elements be considered and incorporated during program design, develop and/or launch stages. This position consults regularly with senior HR leaders and business partners to anticipate both short and long term needs, providing appropriate talent management strategies and consultation, and ensuring a direct and consistent flow of high quality data and programs are available to meet the ongoing talent needs for the business. This position partners with IT and the HRMS Manager to ensure a stable and continuously improving Talent Management system.


Leading People
  • Manages (direct and/or functional) assigned Talent Specialists and/or HR Advisors
  • Provides technical expertise, teamwork and guidance to HR business partners attached to the Corporate Functions, Product Lines and Geozones.

Vision and Strategy
  • Acts as a key contributing member of the Global Talent team and provide inputs with the development of standard global procedures and programs related to Talent Management practices.
  • Actively works with Talent and HR colleagues to address gaps in capabilities across the organization and implement solutions to align talent management and development programs for optimal business impact.

Safety and Compliance
  • Ensures all talent identification and assessments are captured accurately in the system for the purposes of reporting to management, maintaining rules of confidentially and appropriate data privacy.
  • Must understand & comply with all safety rules & company policies of Weatherford.

Financial Performance
  • Provide input to annual Talent budget and track assigned elements towards that budget.
  • Ensure assessment tools and system spend is best utilized, manage vendor contracts and spend if needed.

Operational Capability and Delivery
  • Designs, implements and communicates Global Talent Identification and Management policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with HR Business Partners to facilitate identification, assessment and talent development discussions, support and consult managers with IDPs preparation to identified talent, as directed by Global Talent & DEI Director and the HR Leadership Team.
  • Performance Management: Administrates Performance Management Cycle and System. Responsible for new implementations, project plan, system configuration and testing, training, and all related communications to stakeholders. This may include education workshops, preparation and delivery of calibration sessions, communications and consultations while ensuring compliance with the global approach and efficiency of the process.
  • Communicates the yearly non-technical training schedule to necessary stakeholders.
  • NextGen focal point working closely with Technical Development team in executing the program, ensuring compliance with the global program.

Client and Communication
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with HR Business Partners and Geozone HR leaders to evaluate and implement proposed talent management plans.


  • Strong organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail and follow through.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and effectively, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with global, virtual and matrixed teams in dispersed locations.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English required. Additional language skills common in Western Hemisphere, e.g., Spanish and Portuguese, desirable.
  • Strong problem solving mindset, with the ability to seek creative solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Confident with the ability to effectively and quickly adapt to a transformative work environment.
  • Knowledge of Talent reporting, data analysis, and understanding of Talent metrics.

  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years progressive general HR experience, including a demonstrated career track record across multiple HR business partnership roles.
  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organization Development or similar field required or equivalent working experience. Master's degree preferred.
