Power Transmission Military Marine Sales Leader

This roles is a customer facing staff responsible for winning business. Develops vision on a important market on the level of a product line with a long term perspective. Leads business development planning processes for this market.

As a Power Transmission Military Marine Sales Leader, you will be responsible for:
  • Being responsible for the development of military marine sales opportunities for the Power Transmission (Lufkin Gears) business in the Americas region. This position will work closely with PT engineering, product management and applications to develop gearbox solutions in support of US military opportunities through key shipyards. The military marine sales leader will call on US based shipyards in order to identify marine opportunities well in advance of RFQs in order to better position the PT business for future contracts.
  • Will interface with Baker Hughes government representatives in Washington DC in support of military marine activities, promoting Lufkin Gears products.
  • Working closely with the Lufkin Gears facility site leader and staff to ensure that the site can support the requirements for US military contracts.
  • Will provide back-up support for commercial marine opportunities in the US, working closely with the Commercial Marine Sales Leader
  • In addition to military marine sales responsibilities, this position will also have some industrial accounts in an assigned region.
  • Being responsible for selling product(s), services, parts, solutions, or projects, within a geographic area.
  • Handling complex products and systems requiring technical knowledge and knowledge of the environment where the products or systems will be used. Products and systems are client specific and require technical analysis and system design to fit client conditions.
  • Managing complex long term sales processes. Contracts involve pricing and conditions of sales, rent, operation and maintenance.
  • Handling important business unit clients
  • Coordinating sales teams involving engineering, legal, risk, finance etc.
  • Handling big or highly complex markets / Large potential for growth. Department is involved in big sales.

    To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Have minimum of 5 additional years of experience in Sales for oil and gas / power generation industry.
