As an Intellectual Property Paralegal at Baker Hughes, you will moderate supervision of one or more attorney(s), handles assigned docket of increased complexity and high volume, maintains a tickler system for important dates, notifies attorneys of pressing docket issues, prepares files, generates reports, performs legal research, investigates, compiles and organizes records, and prepares documents for legal counsel review. Handles special projects as assigned.

As an Intellectual Property Paralegal , you will be responsible for:

  • Directing the administrative aspects of assigned patent and trademark portfolios
  • Tracking and administering intellectual property reviews in merger, acquisition & divestiture matters
  • Reviewing invention disclosures for proper handling and alignment with business units
  • Managing database systems for the maintenance of agreements, patents and trademarks for assigned product line portfolios and various merger, acquisition & divestiture matters
  • Docketing and ensuring the filing of assigned patent and trademark applications and related responses to office actions
  • Preparing required documentation, and communicating with US counsel, non-US counsel, and technical representatives regarding the filing and prosecution of worldwide patents and trademarks and the intellectual property review for merger, acquisition & divestiture matters
  • Performing and analyzing computer database patent and trademark searches
  • Ensuring compliance with all docketed deadline dates
  • Preparing patent committee meeting agendas; obtaining, assembling and distributing committee meeting materials; assisting with committee meetings; and completing committee meeting action items
  • Order and coordinate title and state of the art searches and related tasks
  • Manage and analyze annuity and maintenance fee payments
  • Finalize and publish defensive publications using third party services
  • Perform computer database searches and obtain file history documents
  • Performing additional duties as necessary

Qualifications
  • Proven years of paralegal experience/High school or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certification required.
