Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking an Application Developer/Computational Environmental Scientist to join our team in San Diego, CA. Our San Diego office and Southwest Region as a whole is a wide-spectrum workplace with abundant niches for technological and data management growth. Our clients span the military, department of defense, municipalities and commercial entities both local and international. Our projects solve real-world environmental & infrastructure problems. We are passionate about developing optimized highly usable solutions and are looking for another innovator to join our team.

Alongside other engineers, scientists and industry professionals, and as part of an international development team, the Application Developer will work alone and in teams to conceive, propose, design, estimate, implement and support an array of enterprise data management systems and solutions via web, mobile, geospatial and desktop technologies. These systems are used by a variety of environmental programs ranging from water quality data collection and management to site inspection documentation and customer interface. Contributions made will improve team efficiency and collaboration through automation of analysis, reporting, and notifications to meet project challenges. The position requires strong programming and data management skills and will involve the use of coding languages, software and concepts to manage and analyze environmental and scientific data for reporting purposes.
