  • Support drilling operations planning execution and data interpretation.
  • Develop logging programs for operations and studies as may be required.
  • Understand tools used for petrophysical evaluation and make recommendations when required.
  • Supervise logging operations and interpret results to ensure compliance with objectives and defined standards.
  • Make Petro-physical contributions to integrated team studies and operations.
  • Contribute to well proposals and end of well reports as required
  • Provide high quality petrophysical inputs to subsurface studies and Field Development Plans.
  • Proficient in petrophysical evaluation tools, especially, Techlog.
  • Understand the relevance of field-wide property maps and their implication for reserves booking.
  • Quantification of data uncertainty and integration with volumetric calculations
  • Bottom line focused: Ensure all programs are delivered in a cost- effective way.
  • Constructively support the asset in quick look evaluations to support short term oil gains.
  • Liaise with the Asset Management Team during active drilling operations to ensure the delivery of technical well objectives. If required, quantification of impact reservoir risk and uncertainty and integration with volumetric calculations

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • A BS degree in (Petroleum, Electrical or Mechanical) Engineering from a recognised University, candidates with a higher degree (MS or PhD) are also encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in the oil and gas industry, at least 3 of which should cover petroleum engineering operations and integrated petroleum engineering studies.
  • Functional knowledge of subsurface Geology, Reservoir Engineering, Production Technology, Well Engineering and Production Operations.
  • Versatile with workstation-based formation evaluation (Petrel Techlog), well log correlation/X-Section and integrating production performance.
  • Strong ability to understand and embed new ways of working to deliver business improvement gains
  • Good understanding of integrated Oil & Gas Development and its value drivers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills desirable.
  • Strong report-writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate personal initiative and ability to apply good judgement and skills in uncertainty analysis.

Knowledgeable in the following areas:

  • Log evaluation physics and techniques (open and cased hole).
  • Core analysis (routine and special).
  • Log data; formats and handling.
  • Logging tools and technology.
  • Functional understanding of geology/geophysics, reservoir engineering and reservoir characterization issues and how they relate to reservoir performance and development planning.
  • Proficiency in petrophysical evaluation software e.g. Techlog.
  • Experience in property modelling (working in conjunction with static modellers).
  • Generating innovative and imaginative solutions.
  • Reserves classification and evaluation principles.
  • Quantification of reservoir risk and uncertainty and integration with volumetric calculations.
  • Decision and risk analysis.
  • Well Planning including data acquisition.
  • Drilling operations.
  • Asset evaluation.
  • Field Development Planning.
