Manufacturing Specialist - Product Process and Equipment

Our Turbomachinery & Process Solutions team provides industry-leading products and services that optimize the extraction, production and processing of energy. We help a diverse range of customers across the value chain to reduce operating costs and improve productivity.

Partner with the best

Responsible for Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Develops an operational year plan for own manufacturing activities of the team. Suggests improvements in products, processes and procedures.

As a Manufacturing Specialist you will be responsible for:
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Responsible to exchange data and information interaction concerns and also improvements in products, processes and procedures.
  • Handle standardized manufacturing processes. Guidelines for choosing the right actions. Some latitude in ways of working and planning.
  • Lead a small manufacturing unit with a budget > $ 0.5 million.
  • Create and enter master routers into the SAP system.
  • Create or modify production order routers in SAP system.
  • Create materials, routers and BOM's in SAP for in-plant tooling and fixturing.
  • Determine when special tooling or gages are required to manufacture components and assure that they are procured in time to meet production dates.
  • Perform manufacturing cost estimates in support of Sales and Engineering.
  • Maintain the SAP router database.
  • Review engineering drawings for accuracy and producibility.
  • Work with Design Engineering during the design phase to insure the designed part can be economically produced.
  • Assist schedulers with "how to" decisions when routing changes are necessitated by machine down time, material substitutions, etc.
  • Develop outside sources for special manufacturing processes not possessed by LUFKIN.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of blueprint reading.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Working knowledge of machining technology, processes and assembly.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing materials and heat treatment.
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance, part inspection methods and tools.
  • Working knowledge of SAP cost system.
  • Good computer skills including working with Microsoft Excel software.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
