Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting an Insurance Advisor to join our in-house insurance team reporting to the Insurance Manager. The insurance team is an important part of Wood's corporate functions with responsibility for the placement and management of the organisation's global insurance programme, the management of all insurance claims and in the practical and contractual management of insurable risk. The Insurance Advisor will provide support across the full range of insurance products, encompassing; property, liability, financial lines and employee benefit insurances.

The role will ideally be based in Knutsford. However, we may be able to offer flexibility on other UK locations, including considering a hybrid/home office approach. We will also consider both full-time and part-time applications.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Contribute to the delivery of group insurance programme within insurance and departmental budget
  • Act as focal point for the provision of day-to-day insurance, risk management advice and governance to the business
  • Arrange the placement of certain region or business-specific insurance policies
  • Support the placement, renewal and all aspects of all global casualty (e.g. General/Third Party Liability, Professional Indemnity/Liability, Employer's Liability, Pollution Liability) classes of insurance
  • Work closely with insurance brokers and other external providers to ensure timely Issuance of insurance documentation / certification in compliance with customer's contractual requirements and responses to referred queries and requests for insurance quotations
  • Specific responsibility for data collection, disclosure and renewal of certain insurance policies as directed by Insurance Manager
  • Input to global master insurance programme and main annual insurance renewal process as required by Senior Vice President Insurance and Insurance Manager


Skills / Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Insurance experience gained with a Broker, Insurer or in another in-house Insurance/Risk Management role
  • Excellent communication skills

Personal attributes:
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, with keen attention to detail
  • Organised and able to work on own initiative
  • Confidence to deliver advice, training and challenge to the business
  • The ability to contribute and deliver as part of a small, highly professional team
