Partner with the best

The Lead Materials Buyer will be responsible for all day to day activities focused on the procurement and delivery of assigned material and suppliers. This includes but is not limited to completing all MRP requirements, NCRs, MRB issues. In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

As a Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for:

  • Working on an exciting and growing product line in the Emissions Management space
  • Interfacing with Production, Planning, Sourcing, Sales and suppliers to schedule the receipt of material to meet production demands
  • Material scheduling, updating delivery dates, procurement follow-up and expediting suppliers
  • Evaluating and drive resolution on all manufacturing material quality and supply issues
  • Assuring that the shop has the necessary materials and configuration records to meet required production levels
  • Assigned commodities/suppliers to meet the requirements of the business
  • Providing coordination and leadership in procurement activities for determined commodities
  • Evaluating current and anticipated requirements, determine potential risks and manage suppliers to meet business needs
  • Determining overdue risks as it relates to parts, identifying key drivers and managing plans to mitigate those risks
  • Maintaining and analyzing data to measure performance, and identifying inefficient operations as it relates to invoice holds, supplier receipts, OTD, and any other critical areas
  • Working on initiatives defined together with the Materials Manager outside of daily Buyer deliverables


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree
  • Have 3+ years purchasing experience
  • Have SAP or equivalent ERP experience, or demonstrated familiarity with or exposure to MRP concepts
  • Have knowledge/understanding of MRP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Have understanding of MRP, capacity planning, and lean concepts
  • Have strong verbal, written, communication and decision-making skills
  • Have strong analytical and organizational skills
