Reporting into the Emissions Excellence Leader within the Energy Transition Team, the right candidate will be responsible for driving greenhouse gas emissions accounting compliance across the enterprise in alignment with select frameworks and standards while adhering to operational internal controls, driving process simplification, and ensuring the delivery of accurate emissions account reporting and analysis. You must have a thorough understanding and mastery of approaches, theories, methodologies and application of greenhouse gas reporting in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

As the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading and executing proper and timely preparation of emissions data to support all sustainability reporting (inclusive of CDP reporting), including preparation of accurate and efficient quarterly emissions data reports
  • Ensuring that all emissions accounting processes are effective, efficient, and properly controlled
  • Optimizing internal procedures that ensure alignment to external standards and guidelines
  • Analyzing accounting metrics and ownership of internal key account review process
  • Evaluating current process and refining work process performance standards for accuracy, consistency, timeliness and efficiency
  • Working with verification/assurance providers on annual emissions verification for reporting, Supporting external audit, verification and compliance requirements for all legal emissions accounting and reporting
  • Working with Corporate Sustainability team to conduct quarterly process evaluations that promote attainment of performance standards
  • Identifying, obtaining, and maintaining credentials as the sustainability industry evolves and to meet client and company needs
  • Leading training of Energy Transition staff on process and standards to ensuring compliance on evolving standards and guidelines
  • Driving simplification and digitization of reporting, where applicable; reducing cycle times, reworks and manual activities, while instigating controls; and supporting business initiatives and cross-functional projects

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a degree in Sustainability, Climate change accounting, Environmental Science or other related field; and/or a minimum of 3 years' experience in greenhouse gas reporting
  • Have significant experience with data management and report preparation
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have experience in GHG monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV)
  • Have experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001. Auditor or lead auditor is a plus
  • Have strong knowledge of GHG Protocol standard of GHG emissions accounting in corporations
  • Have experience in working directly with external auditors
