Our client is looking for a Permit to Work Focal Point for a contract position, located Offshore - UK and Aberdeen.


The purpose of the Permit to Work Focal Point is to:

  • Facilitate the Permit to work process to ensure compliance with the Detailed Permit to Work Procedure PM-HSE-IMP-006C at all steps to drive improved compliance and more efficient working practices.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the P Vision version 8 implementation.
  • Coach and mentor Performing Authorities to ensure good quality permits are created by those that are responsible.  
  • Coach and mentor the Production Team to create ICCs in compliance with SIRPs (safe isolation and re-instatement of plant).
  • Ensure permits are at the required standard prior to them being presented for verification at the daily permit meeting.
  • Drive consistent CoW practices across all offshore crews.
  • Remove the requirement for 'general/all area' permits through use of the routine template function.


The Permit to Work Focal Point (PtW FP) shall:

  • Act as the asset CoW subject matter expert ensuring compliance with PM-HSE-IMP-006C at all levels of the offshore team.
  • Act as the AT (Area Technician) for the initial site visit and hazard identification, population of the HIC - visiting the location of work with the PA in all instances.
  • Ensure ICC requests are submitted immediately after the requirement has been identified during the initial site visit/population of the HIC.
  • Support the Production team with timely generation of ICCs prior to permit verification.
  • Improve the general 'housekeeping' of the P Vision system by creating ground rules around the length of time permits remain in DRAFT/VERIFIED/AUTHORISED states. Ensure permits do not EXPIRE by ensuring the PA takes full responsibility of the permit from start to finish/suspension of the task.
  • Ensure expectations are acted upon regarding closing work permits on both SUSPENSION and COMPLETION of work, always ensuing the site is left safe, clean and tidy.
  • Ensure compliance with the ESR (Electrical Safety Rules) such that the REP is involved with the review and endorsement of all work involving electrical content and/or electrical isolations
  • Coach and mentor the PA (Performing Authority) to ensure a good quality risk assessment is created.
  • Coach and mentor the PA (Performing Authority) to ensure all the necessary documents are included as attachments in the permit in P Vision.
  • Attend planning meetings (weekly and daily) to support the maintenance team with permit preparedness 48 hours prior to the start of the task.

  • The incumbent of the role will have vast experience in CoW systems and processes. They shall have substantial experience with the implementation of electronic SSoW systems and processes with previous experience as a PA (Performing Authority), IA (Issuing Authority), ISA (Isolating Authority) and AA (Area Authority).
  • Necessary certificates to enable offshore mobilisation immediately.
