A client of Leap29 is seeking a technical safety engineer for major projects in Hammerfest, who can join the business on an initial short term contract with good chances for extension into a longer term role. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for fire protection / prevention, as well as a strong background in safety and firewater system design.

A successful candidate will be rewarded with exciting project opportunities within major North Sea fields, and a varied role on a rotation basis.

Based in Northern Norway, they are open to commuters from within Norway and with a 12-9 rotation this is easily facilitated, which is a highly attractive proposition. Assignments will involve among other things, Technical design / calculations within Torch Pressure Relief (Blowdown) Fracture / Fire resistance / Fire insulation.

• Find robust solutions to challenges related to operation, maintenance and projects, in close collaboration with other disciplines.
• Work independently with tasks related to technical design and calculations on systems that constitute technical safety barriers in a process plant.


- Minimum 3-5 years experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Fire and gas detection, ignition source control and emergency stop of plant.
• Safety barriers related to emergency stoppages of facilities, torch systems, gas explosions, fire protection and escape.
• Technical safety conditions related to working environment Technical assessments regarding emissions to the external environment.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards that include technical safety in the industry, such as PTIL, NORSOK, ISO. Experience with methods for risk analysis, HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, ALARP.
• English fluency, written and spoken
