Overview / Responsibilities

Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Intermediate/ Senior Civil Designer. Reporting to the CSA Department Manager, this position can be located in any of the following offices - Vancouver, BC, Calgary, AB, Oakville, ON, Tucker, GA, West Palm Beach, FL, Orlando, FL or Los Angeles, CA. This role has responsibilities for assisting with the civil design on projects primarily in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) industry. Key Responsibilities
  • Layout, design and specification for civil systems for industrial plants and their related infrastructure
  • Providing civil design and drafting support for industrial facilities and services
  • Preparing drawings for site development, buried and overland piping and earthworks including general grading, ponds, roads, and rail spurs using Civil 3D & AutoCAD
  • Reviewing project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation against project standards and specifications
  • Coordinating and working with project team members
  • Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures
  • Maintain accurate design files for reference purposes


Skills / Qualifications

  • Civil engineering technician / technology diploma from a recognized community college
  • 10-20 years of relevant design experience for industrial plants
  • Experience using AutoCAD & Civil 3D
  • Experience using MicroStation is considered a plus
  • Drafting and design experience within a consulting engineering environment
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
