Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting Blaster Painters - Offshore, an exciting & challenging role on the BSP Offshore Rejuvenation project

  • Receives verbal instructions from the Painting Foreman and obtains required materials and supplies.
  • Prepares grit - blasting or other blasting equipment prior to use, including ensuring compressed air pressures are correct, quality of grit, and replacing worn rubber linings in the nozzle, as required.
  • Must have had experience in grit blasting to SA1, SA2, SA2.5 and SA3.
  • Performs duties of Painter as and when required.
  • Performs related duties, such as keeping work area clean and tidy, observing fire and safety rules and regulations, etc

Essential:
  • No trade training requirements
  • Internal Trade Test

Desirable:
  • As opposite

Experience

Essential:
  • Completion of primary education.
  • 5 years' experience in grit - blasting on industrial plant, preferably Petro - chemical facilities
  • Basic knowledge of written and spoken English.

Desirable:
  • As above

Personal qualities, aptitudes, and skills
  • Considerable - involving lifting, pulling, and pushing. Wear's grit - blasting helmet and protective clothing whilst working.

  • Internal Trade Test
