The Senior DevOps Engineer is a key role within the Digital and Technology Team working closely with the Developers and IT and helping shape the future for Woods Application Environment. Posed by Digital Transformation, there is a vital need to continuously deliver applications with fast pace and rapidly react to user feedback as well as ever-changing requirements while keeping the solutions available, secure, performant and fully functioning to meet our customer expectations. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our agile, highly skilled, globally distributed, hyper-connected team and act as an infrastructure developer with hands-on involvement in building deployment and testing pipelines, automated provisioning of cloud and on-promise infrastructures. You will help us to build secure, scalable and resilient architectures to support our next generation cloud, mobile, desktop and low-code/no-code solutions, and refine our DevSecOps culture and practices.

Key responsibilities include;
  • Works as a member of the software development team collaborating with several stakeholders including IT services to ensure that the team and client have an understanding of operational requirements, and takes shared responsibility for designing and implementing infrastructure for delivering and running software services
  • Takes ownership of solutions infrastructure including automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines) to provide reliability, security, scalability, automation, performance, availability and cost management
  • Hands-on implementation and configuration work to get projects off the ground, evaluate and drive improvements to existing infrastructure
  • Act as an interface between product (software/applications) development and operational end-users. Enable solutions to be deployed in the cloud, bundle up solutions and make them available to the client

Skills / Qualifications

  • Science, Engineering or IT degree

Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Working experience with infrastructure automation, monitoring tools server virtualisation, IaaS and PaaS cloud
  • Good understanding of the practical application of DevOps principles, Agile methods and Infrastructure as Code
  • Strong knowledge of automation and the ability to write code using scripting and programming languages
  • Ability to move quickly on building out devolvement, testing and staging environments
  • Experience in the Java or C# programming language and .NET Framework
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and build pipelines and hands-on experience with Jenkins and Microsoft DevOps platform
  • Hands-on experience in using configuration management tools
  • Hands-on experience to build and handle VM's and Containers
  • Hands-on experience in building, designing and maintaining cloud-based applications in Azure or AWS
  • Experience administering application servers, web servers, and databases
  • Some experience with automated testing tools
