Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Site Material Controller to work on a European Oil & Gas project, based at our site in North East England. This role will be on a Fixed Term Contract basis for 12 months initially.
The role is Responsible for the leadership and management of the materials team across the project providing all aspects of materials control, inventory, warehousing and reporting.
Key aspects of the role include the management of the materials activities. The administration and supervision of assigned materials and warehouse personnel working on the project. Ensuring the competence and performance of all assigned materials personnel within their role.
In addition to manage the effective expediting, receipt, storage, movement and control of all inventory and materials to support the project. To liaise with supply chain, clients, freight forwarders, customs control to ensure that all materials and equipment are marshalled and shipped in accordance with Wood procedures and client requirements.
The site material controller also regularly monitors and reports progress of materials activities. Ensuring team regularly update reports / material systems are updated with required information to allow accurate reporting, and escalates any critical issues and risks to the Supply Chain Manager or Chief Field Engineer as appropriate.
