As a Field Service Engineer (FSE) - a Mechanical FSE, you will be an expert in Rotating Equipment (Steam/Gas Turbine, Compressors) and a Control FSE, you will be an expert in Control and Instrumentation (Commissioning & Startup). You will provide on-site leadership and technical support by interacting with engineering and management teams to ensure that site activities progress in safely manner according to Baker Hughes technical & quality requirements aligning to agreed project schedule and costs.

As a Field Services Engineer - Control/Mechanical (Turbomachinery & Process Solutions), you will be responsible for:

 

  • Preparing, executing field services jobs, and acting point of interventions between the project managers based in the Baker Hughes offices and customer at the field.
  • Acting as primary point of contact and trusted advisor to customers for timely and satisfactory resolution of concerns.
  • Providing after-sales technical advice during equipment maintenance / outage activity.
  • Writing accurate professional reports acting as single point of contact between Customers and Baker Hughes Headquarter concerning technical issues and interfacing with all involved functions.
  • Using Company e-tools to retrieve technical documents and management of packing list, bill of material and drawings.
  • Ensuring all in-field activities are carried out safely complying with company environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.
  • Interfacing across customers, engineering, and management teams to ensure site operations and maintenance activities aligned to technical requirements.
  • Collaborating with co-workers and customers to provide technical guidance to solve complex technical problems.

 


As a Mechanical Specialist in Heavy Duty Gas Turbines, you will be responsible for:

 

 

  • Performing all levels of maintenance, inspection, checks, testing and troubleshooting on gas turbines, compressors, and equipment.
  • Performing on-site installation of systems and equipment and carry out relevant preventive maintenance, repair and alignment after installation/reassembly works.
  • Carrying out assessment on the gas turbine/compressor components and provide basic
    engineering support/feedback to stakeholders regarding health status and technical recommendation during field intervention.
  • Being responsible for the services activity i.e. disassembly & reassembly of the Gas Turbine equipment/ components as per Baker Hughes procedures.
  • Having good experience in GE Turbine Maintenance Scope i.e. Combustion Inspection (CI), Hot Gas Path Inspection (HGPI), Major Inspection & Complete Overhaul.
  • Performing troubleshooting on all variant of the Aero and/or Heavy-Duty Gas Turbine
  • Ensuring all necessary quality process is applied during the disassembly and re-assembly of the gas turbine/acting as site QA/QC engineer.

 


As a Control Specialist in Gas Turbine Startup and Instrumentation, you will be responsible for:

 

 

  • Performing inspection, checks and testing of electrical control systems used on BH equipment during both installation and maintenance activities.
  • Identifying issues, fault-find and problem solve to ensure smooth and timely progression of the works.
  • Leading and executing loop check task, signal test, perform functional test independently and conduct integrity check and first power-up of the Control Panel
  • Carrying out supervision on cable laying, verify integrity and health of electrical connection between Gas Turbine & Auxiliary systems i.e meggering,
  • Ensuring the correct installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning practices are followed throughout the project as per engineering check lists
  • Supporting Gas Turbine control system upgrade activity, verify and calibrate filed instrumentations and perform Gas Turbine/ Compressor start up activity
  • Providing customers and project team with professional and timely report related to field services activities and equipment status.
  • Ensuring all in-field activities carried out safely complying with quality, aligning to customers' and company HSE standards and procedures.

 


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

 

 

  • Have Bachelor of Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience or High School Technical Diploma or equivalent fields with 5 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment in Oil & Gas industry within maintenance or installation field activities.
  • Show strong knowledge on rotating equipment installation/maintenance; philosophy of Gas Turbines and their auxiliaries (lube oil system, fuel gas system, seal gas system).
  • Demonstrate ability to understand and implement mechanical drawings (section drawing; construction drawing; P&ID; alignment specification, flushing/blowing procedure; piping specification; wiring diagram, etc.).
  • Demonstrate proven experience in commissioning and trouble-shooting rotating equipment control systems.
  • Display an excellent English fluency both spoken and written.
  • Have availability to frequent travel worldwide up to 70%-80% of the time on and off-shore.
  • Show strong analytic and problem-solving skills together with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Have a Valid Health Certificate required to comply to Baker Hughes Fit for Duty policy and possess valid Offshore Certificate
