LEAD TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER (Downstream)

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Lead Technical Support Engineer ensures Baker Hughes delivers flawless execution by providing Technical Support to the Service Delivery organization and Sales organization when needed in pre-planning, job execution, and post-job analysis.

ESSENTAIL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure compliance with Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process
  • Subject Matter Expert for his/her area of support
  • Support the field technically through different media (online, phone calls, and technical papers)
  • 24/7 Support for critical Operations in the field when needed
  • Share knowledge across the organization by submitting best practices, case histories, and lesson learned to the knowledge management database
  • Follow up on field failures that require Technology involvement and ensure that the learning is shared across the field
  • Raise alert across the Service Delivery organization whenever an unfamiliar technical issues arises on a job
  • Coaching the site field population
  • Communicate to Engineering and Technology organization on issues and lesson learned related to different technologies
  • Product-line specific responsibilities


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience, particularly in Downstream Refining Process applications
  • Highly initiative, self-driven, strong analytical and conceptual skills, flexibility
  • Through understanding of P/L technology and Service Delivery requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop and mentor small technical teams
  • Availability on call outside of normal business hours
  • Good communication skills


DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Significant operational experience
  • Preferred prior experience includes roles such as: field/remote engineer, applications engineer or other technical disciplines, service delivery coordinator/manager
  • Ability to learn and use various computer tools to prepare data and visualizations for analysis
  • Ability to work independently

Sugar Land, TX/North America (other locations with remote option will be considered on a case by case basis aligned with business need)
