Our team is responsible for managing, planning and integrating the organization's efforts to achieve growth through strategic business development initiatives, both organic and inorganic across our entire Upstream Chemical portfolio.

As a Upstream Chemicals Sales and Commercial Director, you'll be involved in planning and development for the overall sales strategy of your North American Land team. In a high-impact, fast-paced environment you'll work with exclusive product lines. As a trusted leader, you'll deliver successful outcomes for customers through innovation, strategic solutions, good relationships and thorough business understanding.

As a Upstream Chemicals Sales and Commercial Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Selling product(s), services, solutions, or projects within the scope of the Plains Account
  • Managing four sale organizations across North America and a Houston based sales team, providing status reports, critical path analyses and planning
  • Building long-term strategic relationships with customers to originate sales opportunities and develop strategies for business growth
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support proposals, identify sales opportunities and develop strategies for business growth
  • Preparing of commercial proposals for chemical solutions to share with our customers
  • Developing and implementing strategic sales plans to ensure commercial intensity and technical support function alignment


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree and or relevant industry experience
  • Have a minium 5 years experience in sales and or operations in upstream chemicals
  • Have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to influence others
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to build trusting relationships
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate skills and experience in CRM platforms
  • Show solid previous experience and understanding of Oilfield Chemicals Upstream business including financial acumen
  • Demonstrate previous experience in managing a sales group
