Research & Development Polymer Technician to join the Analytical R & D team for the Cincinnati Technology Center. As a member of the team you will support the R&D Analytical Laboratory and assist the department in reaching its objectives, and annual goals. The R&D Analytical Laboratory provides analytical support and polymer science to all the client polymer businesses in the Americas which include internal and external customers, manufacturing plants. This position reports to the Analytical Lab Supervisor of the Cincinnati Technology Center.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Perform analytical testing using a variety of techniques related to polymer characterization safely according to established methods and procedures using analytical techniques such as GPC, HPLC, GC, NMR, FTIR/Raman, ICP, XRD, DSC, TGA, DMA, SEM, Optical Microscopy and Rheology for characterization of polymers.
• Responsible for receiving, preparing, testing, interpreting data, reporting statistics, entering and/or uploading to the LIMS • Maintain all instruments in good working condition, including required routine calibration • Interface effectively with R&D managers, supervisors, researchers, other technicians, engineers, site HSE and other support staff for the planning and execution of efficient experimental programs with the highest attention to detail and data integrity • Focus on contributing a positive attitude, promoting positive work environment and high degree of teamwork • Contribute new innovative ideas to improve efficiencies and processes • Exhibit excellent safety leadership in the workplace, consistent with company and site HSE goals.


Min. Qualifications
• Associates degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, Physics or a related technical field preferably with 3 or more years of experience in an R&D, manufacturing or industrial laboratory. A Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry, engineering or any other related scientific discipline is preferred with 1-5 years relevant experience.
• Experience in broad range of analytical techniques is desirable • Solid background in computer-based instrument control systems, statistics and Microsoft Office • Highly self-motivated individual, focused on providing high quality laboratory data in an efficient manner, while exhibiting excellent workplace skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Problem solving skills and the ability to make competent, independent, decisions in a timely manner to ensure excellent progress on projects and assigned tasks • Ability to effectively manage multiple and or changing priorities with minimal supervision • Must possess the ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal customers, external customers. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required
