Port Engineer - Philadelphia, PA

 

Job Summary:

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for repair, maintenance and operation of assigned vessels. You will manage vessel crews to ensure vessel operations are safe and efficient.

 

Duties

- Ensure vessel compliance to Safety, Quality and Environmental (SQE) Policy

- Supervise maintenance and repair to optimize vessel availability

- Set and monitor operating budgets for the vessel

- Responsible for the management of repair and maintenance for vessels including routine voyage repairs, regulatory surveys, dry docking shipyard events, emergencies, casualties and modifications

- Attend vessels on regularly to make sure crew compliance to SQE program and to verify vessel maintenance.

- Prep dry dock and voyage repair specifications, evaluate shipyard quotations and proposals, supervise dry-dock repair and administer cost control8

- Participate in shipboard and office ISM audits

 

 

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in marine field, Maritime Academy graduate preferred, or five years equivalent experience required

- United State Coast Guard license preferred

- Must have sailed on US flagged vessels

- Diesel experience required

- Recent tanker experience preferred

- Port Engineer or Technical Superintendent experience preferred

- Must be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
