Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting f for an experienced Camp Boss to join our operations in Israel.

Reporting to the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM), the purpose of the role will be to manage all aspects of the Catering, housekeeping, laundry and janitorial support services on an Offshore Installation.

Liaises with: OIM, HSE Team Leader, Asset Services Team, Logistics, and Third-Party Contractors

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

To ensure their own health and safety and that of others is given priority by:
  • Demonstrating total commitment to Company safety and management systems and plans, Client policies and safety systems and statutory requirements;
  • Implement and maintain the highest standards of health and hygenie throughout the facility;
  • A proactive approach to safety;
  • Practising the highest personal standards;
  • Encourages employee involvement in platform safety systems and Company Safety and Performance;
  • Delivers Company Safe System Active Monitoring as per the agreed review schedule
  • Manages all personnel under direct control and ensures they are fully inducted, trained, appraised and competent to perform any assigned task. Maintain up-to-date records of inductions, training and progress;
  • Organises duty rotas, menu planning and cleaning rotas within budgetary targets;
  • Ensures all equipment is operating satisfactorily and where necessary, report defects;
  • Performs any other tasks within his competency as required by Management;
  • Has hands on involvement in preparing and serving meals to client prescribed standards within the budgetary framework laid down by Company;
  • Manages all aspects of the catering and housekeeping services on an offshore installation;
  • Manages and organises all personnel to provide a cost-effective quality service in a safe and healthy manner;
  • Develops and maintains healthy industrial relations climate conducive to a happy working environment;
  • Controls all stocks of food and non-food items, within agreed quality standards, inventory levels and budgetary constraints;
  • Operates all standard administrative procedures to provide accurate timely information, adequate control and concise records;
  • Implements and manages the training of all personnel in matters of operational skills, health, safety and hygiene
  • Appraises directs personnel and identifies training needs;
  • Implements and maintains the highest standards of health and hygiene throughout the facility;
  • Develops effective communications with the client, personnel and Company management;

  • Effectiveness of Company team as assessed by:
    • Customer Satisfaction
    • Ability of team to carry out received tasks
    • Team training and development
  • Budget Performance
  • Efficiency of operation assessed through client performance review

Skills / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Hotel management and catering technology certificate
  • Working as a fully trained chef
  • Experience gained as a Camp Boss ideally on an offshore oil and gas installation, or marine related, military installations or similar environment
  • H2S & BOISET - preferred
  • Certificate of competency (COC) - Skilled certificate
  • Standards of training certification and watchkeeping (STCW)

  • Certificate in food safety
  • Food safety awareness
  • Service Industry
  • Bakery, breads and sweets
  • Experience with American, Middle East, European, and/or Asian cooking
  • Menu planning and budget control
  • Understanding of supervisory Management
  • Knowledge and understanding of COSHH and risk assessment
  • Be able to communicate in English (verbally and written)
