Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Procurement Coordinator to join our team to be based in Baku Azerbaijan with the period of about 12 months. In this role you will be assigned to oversee, as part of the PMC (integrated) team (IPMT), the Procurement / Materials Management function of either EPC Contractors or direct procurement activities of IPMT/Owner. The successful applicant will e nsure the company's commercial interest is maintained during the execution of the contract, whilst monitoring the EPC contractor's and vendors compliance with the contract/PO's.


  • Control and comment all Procurement / Materials Management activities as assigned
  • Review / create Procurement / Materials Management Plans and material responsibility matrix for the Work Package
  • Ensure that the appropriate material management systems are implemented
  • Ensure Work Package - specific material management procedures and requirements (including Material Control and Planning and Supplier Quality Surveillance) are complied with
  • Interact with Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Discipline Leads and Company to meet Project objectives through alignment sessions, to ensure effective cross ­ discipline communication
  • Responsible to review and recommend submission for any changes affecting materials
  • Provide any mentoring to the Procurement / Materials Management Team, and unify the team to ensure it is moving in a common direction, consistent with the overall Project objectives
  • Ensure effective cross - discipline communications, and address and track the needs, requirements and issues
  • Ensure that Contract requirements are implemented into Project Procurement / Materials Management plans and procedures
  • Review EPC Contractor's material control plans and procedures, and Material Take - Off schedules
  • Review EPC Contractor's review Project expediting plans and strategies, which support Project schedule objectives
  • Review EPC Contractors' SQS inspection plans
  • Review EPC Contractor's Procurement / Materials Management procedures and sourcing strategies
  • Review Project logistics plans and strategies as may be prepared by the Logistics Manager
  • Review field material management plans and procedures, including site material control, warehousing and surplus disposition as prepared by EPC Contractor, with the Work Package Construction Manager
  • Ensure that appropriate strategies are developed, Project objectives are achieved, potential issues are identified, and corrective actions are completed
  • Interface with Engineering on the topics of Vendor List, change management, expediting of vendor data and prompt return of same
  • Prepare weekly and monthly Procurement / Materials Management progress reports and provide input into Project reports

Skills / Qualifications

  • Basic qualification: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Sciences
  • Minimum industrial experience: 15 years
  • 8-10 years' experience in the role:
  • Experience in PMC / EPC organizations in refinery / petrochemicals industries and must have handled procurement of plant and machinery and materials management for major projects of value not less than US$500 million each
  • Experience in all aspects of procurement/materials management as related to typical projects undertaken by Wood, including the use of computerized systems
  • Experience in spare parts
  • Ability to interface with Company's procurement / materials management personnel and to contribute to overall Project Management
  • Good verbal and written skills (English)
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize, organize and delegate work schedules
