We are market leaders in providing insights for subsurface evaluation and risk assessments using a cloud-deployed portfolio of geoscience data products. Spatial data is critical to the creation and editing of our content and we are looking for a GIS Developer who is experienced in managing, designing and implementing relational databases and the tools and workflows required for editing in a multi-user environment. You will be overseeing the migration of our existing infrastructure to PostgreSQL and QGIS, working within an agile team and interacting with colleagues and internal stakeholders to understand and meet their requirements. This role is suited to someone who is seeking to directly influence the most essential tools used daily within the business.
•Oversee the migration of our existing infrastructure to PostgreSQL and QGIS.
•Design, maintain and optimise PostgreSQL (PostGIS) databases.
•Convert existing Python plug-ins to use in QGIS and create and manage additional plug-ins to meet user requirements.
•Update and improve workflows for multi-user editing.
•Providing training and support to desktop QGIS users.
•Monitoring and maintenance of systems and tools.
•Create and monitor standards for data management and metadata.
Python, PostgreSQL & PostGIS, SQL Server, QGIS, FME - all residing in AWS infrastructure.
You should have demonstrable experience designing and implementing RDBs in ArcGIS and PostgreSQL and be an experienced Python plug-in developer. You will enjoy interacting with people and working alongside them, so you can understand their requirements and support them as they move across to a different application environment. You should be a good communicator as some engagement with contractors may be required.
