We are seeking a Planning & Portfolio Analyst to join our Upstream Strategy & Portfolio Management team. This position is part of a segment level finance team that plays a critical role within Upstream Finance, providing control, oversight and assurance of the planning, management and efficiency of the segment portfolio through ongoing scrutiny, benchmarking and continual improvement recommendations.
As part of the team the individual will be responsible for providing evaluation and decision support on Upstream segment and Corporate initiatives through economic analysis and modeling, ensuring in-depth understanding of valuation, risks and overall impacts on segment portfolio and financials.
The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or a related discipline.
Advanced business degree (e.g. MBA) and / or a relevant professional certificate (e.g. CFA) would be favorable.
Strong oil and gas financial experience with sound quantitative background and analytical skills.
Minimum of 10 years of related experience in capital management, planning, economic risk management, M&A and benchmarking activities.
Proven track record in Project valuation and M&A Support.
Track record in the field of financial analysis, portfolio valuation & management with hands-on economic modelling experience.
Resilient professional able to strike the right balance between challenge and support.
Experience with Hyperion Strategic Finance would be considered and asset.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You are expected to be able to perform the following:
Evaluate and support capital allocation decisions for the segment portfolio through ongoing scrutiny, benchmarking and continual improvement recommendations, striking the right balance between challenge and support for segment admin areas case submissions.
Develop new economic models or review segment related models providing economic insights on earnings, investments and energy market matters.
Develop benchmarking analysis to identify value opportunities.
