Unit Controls Engineer

Our NEXUS Control Business designs and builds industry leading, custom designed controls systems and applications for gas- and steam turbines, generators and compressors to control and monitor industrial equipment in the power and oil & gas sectors. Partner with the best

As a Unit Controls Engineer you will cultivate customer relationships and lead engineered solutions to deliver value to our customers. You will develop knowledge and experience with electrical and mechanical control systems for unit operations (turbines, pumps, compressors, etc.)

As Unit Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Reviewing project information to understand scope. This includes schedules, process flows, manuals, commercial documentation, and engineering specs.

• Applying electrical and mechanical engineering principles to analyze, design, test, and troubleshoot industrial process control systems, while minimizing cost.

• Ensuring all products meet quality control standards.

• Designing and understanding technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.

• Providing customers with technical direction and support.

• Supporting site commissionings and customer communication both internal and external.

• Troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, control, and process issues on live systems as well as simulations.

• Designing control systems for interface to existing unit operations equipment, and evaluate all system components, requirements, and interactions.

• Programing/configuring control system software in a visual programming language.

• Ensuring project execution is carried out safely, in order to comply with company health Safety and environmental (HSE) guidelines and procedures.

• Supporting Packaged Systems Engineers in defining and selecting cabinet and controls hardware.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Bachelor's Degree in a ?STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)

• Travel up to 25% of the time, as required

• Experience with industrial equipment in Power, Metals, Pulp & Paper, Chemical plants and other rotating machinery

The pay range for this role will be: $70K - 80K USD

You will be eligible to participate in the Baker Hughes Fullstream Short-term incentive program applicable for the above position. The actual payout for your short-term incentive award will be based on company and individual performance and is contingent upon Baker Hughes achieving pre-determined financial results.

You will be eligible to participate in Company-sponsored benefit programs, including health & welfare programs and the Thrift Plan (401k). You will have a choice of coverage options that best suit your needs. Coverage options and contribution amounts are related to your benefit elections, base salary level and specific requirements of each of these plans.
