Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Market Analyst to be an integral part of the Global Strategy Function. The objective of the Analyst role is to provide timely, thought-provoking insight to Wood's senior leaders on relevant markets, industry trends and companies, with a focus on the Americas region. The Analyst role is an advisory role which requires strong influencing skills at senior levels in the company but would not ordinarily have direct decision making responsibility.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

The Analyst role is within the Strategy and Development function and will involve working closely with operational leaders and business development teams right across Wood's global business. They will be required to work across organizational boundaries on areas of strategic importance to Wood, covering key sectors, countries, technology and companies.

  • Identify, obtain, validate, aggregate and critically assess sources of information from both primary and secondary (desk-based) research
  • Written and verbal market analysis of sectors, services, companies (both customers & competitors), countries, technology, and macro trends
  • Ability to analyze new, potentially unfamiliar, markets using a variety of analytical techniques
  • Develop creative and innovative methods to assess and visualize data
  • Role model collaborative behavior to actively promote and share industry insight to key stakeholders and promote collegiate decision making across the S&A function
  • Provide input into the global Strategic Planning Process (SPP)
  • Provide business analysis expertise to specific projects within the operations
  • Mentor and train junior analysts


Skills / Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Degree in related business field or equivalent years' experience
  • Significant industry experience is energy-related
  • A strong understanding of the macroeconomic energy industry
  • Expert in creative problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience and understanding of utilizing a variety of analytical methods to undertake primary and secondary
  • Experience of engaging with and influencing senior management to facilitate decision making and formulate strategic direction
  • Good Excel & PowerPoint skills
