Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Automation and Controls is currently recruiting for a Junior Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team. This position reports to the Branch Manager.

This is an opportunity to work in a global organization with an industry-leading position and to be involved in projects both locally, and around the world. We are seeking a dynamic individual, who is motivated and eager to learn.

Responsibilities:
  • Allocate unit specific EBM letters
  • Review specifications and standard practices
  • Internal hard wired and logic standards
  • General specification and scope of work
  • Generate design package
  • Design logic and Smart Displays Screens
  • Enter Descriptions
  • Specify mod box and panel material
  • Write mod box and panel material EBMs
  • Assist in installation
  • Debug with little engineer support
  • Launch/Standby
  • Gather baseline data as per spec
  • Complete Quality Defect Report
  • Submit AsBuilts to Project Engineer
  • Complete unit clean up sheets and submit to Project Engineer


Skills / Qualifications

Skills/Education:
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or twenty-one (21) credit hours in Electrical Training
  • 3 years of experience in the electrical controls environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere
  • Travel is required
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to climb a 2 story ladder
  • Can walk a mile in 20 minutes
  • Be able to cover, on foot, a reasonable distance on a job site
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs without difficulty
  • All of the above items to be accomplished while carrying a laptop computer
