This position is with a leading renewable energy project developer This position will be located in Iowa City, IA. Tremendous growth in the renewables industry has spurred project development and, as a result, our company has experienced dramatic growth and is looking for the perfect candidate to add to our staff.

What you'll do:
  • Key member of the ENGIE Program Management Capital Projects team responsible for the negotiation, development, and administration of capital project contracts. The Contracts Analyst Senior will liaise with the ENGIE NORAM Contracts Management team located at corporate headquarters in Houston; they will provide overarching governance and support to the Capital Projects team.
  • Works closely with the contracts management and procurement teams in Houston, the Senior Contracts Manager leads the project administration and controls of executed contracts in Iowa City and other universities within the business line.
  • Manages the service, equipment and labor supply contracting processes from RFP development through award and administration as a service to the Program and Project Managers for all capital projects.
  • Develops close working professional relationships with qualified equipment vendors, suppliers, construction contractors, and design/engineering firms.
  • Manages Pre-Award and Post Award activities for RFQs, RFPs, contract negotiations and changes.
  • Reviews supplier invoices, change orders, and provides support to the Project Manager, Operations' Budget Manager and the Partnership's Chief Financial Officer.
  • Provides feedback to the Project Manager on maintaining schedule timelines, technical quality and cost controls, as related to the project administration of the executed contract.
  • Provides support to project managers on developing scopes of work, contractual claims and disputes.
  • Leverages ENGIE subsidiaries for project execution if providing the greatest value.
  • Develops close professional relationships with our partners, maintaining a customer centric view when writing contracts.
  • Ensures project execution adheres to applicable industrial standards and regulatory codes as stipulated in contractual terms and conditions.
  • Supports the Project Manager with review of Change Requests, Directives, monthly payment applications from Contractors and Construction Administrators.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

What you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an ABET institution or equivalent in demonstrated experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in administering contracts for industrial or municipal projects with demonstrated success.
  • Practical understanding of design, construction and operations of thermal assets in a municipal environment will be considered a plus.
  • Experience or solid understanding of procurement processes.
  • Ability to adhere to the highest safety standards.
  • Experience in construction projects, working at sites, managing subcontractors, contracts administration and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity and trust among the integrated project team members.
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other's ideas and viewpoints and resolving team conflict situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and ensure performance expectations and resultant outcomes are met.
  • Experience in developing RFQs/RFPs in industrial construction environments.
  • Experience in contract execution, management and negotiation of construction, engineering and services contracts.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) to be able to engage with all stakeholders including contractors and government agencies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).
