ENGIE are recruiting for a Assistant Financial Accountant to be based in Newcastle, NE12 8EX. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
There will be flexibility within this position to allow for home working for the right candidate however frequent travel to Newcastle may be required for Team meetings.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at ENGIE's Shared Service Centre. You'll support the Financial accounting team in month end processes by posting journals, providing reports, analysis and insights in support of management decision making.

Role Overview
  • Complete month end processes as defined in desk top procedures to pre agreed timetable;
  • Review and process journals submitted from business partners;
  • Produce high quality, actionable management information reports and insights;
  • Be focussed on developing insightful value-added management information which allows the business to deliver optimal performance;
  • Challenge existing ways of working and develop a continuous improvement culture;
  • Support with coaching and the development of junior members within the team;
  • Instil a customer facing culture to enable the delivery of best in class services to all stakeholders.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:
  • Part qualified (CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA);
  • Experience of complex business processes and tools for large data analysis;
  • Good at managing relationships particularly with the business / customers;
  • Proven record of delivering continuous improvement and driving change;
  • Experience coaching or supporting with the development of team members.
  • MS Excel.
  • SAP experience would be a bonus.

This role requires a DBS/DS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
