Our team is experiencing exci ting growth within our established practices regionally and we have a need for an engineering intern in our Baton Rouge office. This position reports directly to the Baton Rouge Group Leader and serves in a support role to engineers and project managers on water and wastewater projects. This individual will be a part of a dynamic team and will participate in the design, coordination, and execution of projects for our clients. This individual will both work independently and with peers as part of a team. This position should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project while delivering transformative projects for our clients, in our diverse and fast-paced office.

Responsibilities:
  • Work under the supervision of senior level engineers.
  • Perform a wide variety of routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Make field trips and conduct field audits.
  • Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project goals.
  • Prepare planning documents, reports, studies, and calculations.
  • Prepare engineering specifications, data sheets, sketches, drawings and perform calculations in support of engineering activities.

Qualifications:

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor or Masters of Science degree in Engineering in an ABET accredited program
  • Must be at least a rising Junior
  • Interest in Water / Wastewater.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs


Ideally, you'll also have:
  • 3.0 GPA
  • On-site experience
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • A previous internship related to your field of study
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs
  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills
