ENGIE are recruiting for a Mechnical Engineer to be based in Pinderfields & Pontefract Hospitals, WF1 4DG. This is a permanent full-time role working 42 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £25,000 to £27,000 per annum depending upon skills and experience, plus variable 'Shift Enhancements'.
Shift pattern: 4 days on 4 days off: 12 hour shifts: 07:00 to 19:00.

About the role:
Working directly to the Technical Supervisors, the post holder will have the required skills to ensure the safe and continuous operation of mechanical engineering services and building plant as part of a flexible maintenance team, including specialist subcontractors to deliver work to the highest of standards for our clients.

The main responsibilities include efficiently and effectively performing engineering maintenance of all relevant assets. Work will be assigned from a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule or in response to a reactive work order raised by our client representatives or our own personnel on site. All planned and reactive tasks will be managed through to completion, including fault diagnosis and sourcing parts where applicable. Must be able to demonstrate that awareness of best working practices and that these are followed at all times.

Working as part of a wider M&E team, there may be a requirement to undertake other tasks that may not be specifically related to mechanical systems.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include but are not limited to:
  • To work in accordance with the requirements of Health Technical Memoranda (HTM's) and any other relevant statutory compliance requirements, Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 etc.
  • To be certified Appointed Person in critical systems including Medical Gas Pipeline Systems.
  • This requires the post holder to be trained, certificated and reassessed at regular intervals, generally three yearly.
  • To support, advise and action Policy and Safe Working Procedures as a Competent Person (Mechanical).
  • Actively participate in the operation and control of all engineering planned maintenance schemes and undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities to plant and non-medical equipment.
  • Undertake fault finding on complex medical gas systems, low pressure heating water systems, critical systems and equipment and pressurised steam systems. Using cause effect analysis and detailed examination to gain a solution and use of all relevant drawings and schematics.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commission and test in accordance with published procedures.
  • Complete all report sheets and test certificates as necessary and mark up any drawing alterations.
  • Complete all Task/Risk Assessment sheets relating to work.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:
  • Recognised Mechanical/Engineering Apprenticeship - HNC, ONC, City & Guilds, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to obtain Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) clearance.
