Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior People & Organization Business Partner (Labour Relations) who will provide support to an upcoming project. This is a strategic operational role that is key role in ensuring the execution of the labour strategy for the workforce. This position requires expertise in labour relations and providing support and advice for complex labour and employment related matters as a resource for the organization.

Main Accountabilities


  • Provide consistent operational leadership direction dedicated to the HR / LR function on site
  • Develop and implement an Employer Organization Strategy
  • Develop, implement, and provide interpretation of policies and procedures that support the Employers Association to ensure a consistent and harmonious workplace and a strong management and employee relationship
  • Ensure compliance with contract and client requirements related to site activities
  • Provide advice on the interpretation and application of Employer's Association and on various employee labour relations issues, while ensuring alignment with client and Wood requirements and initiatives
  • Provide advice to managers and site-based members to effectively administer corporate programs including but not limited to performance management, grievances and arbitration matters, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and applicable legislation and regulations
  • Lead and participate in investigations and prepare reports and recommendations for management
  • Lead and facilitate committee meetings in accordance with Employers organization
  • Work in conjunction with the Recruitment team to support the hiring for site - based employees
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting of headcount details and other reports as required while effectively using HRIS system to manage data
  • Work with Health, Safety, Security and Environment team to support overall workforce safety
  • Other duties as assigned


Skills / Qualifications

Main Qualifications



  • University Degree or certificate in Human Resources Management, Industrial / Labour Relations
  • 7+ years of progressive HR / LR experience with strong background in labour relations and a minimum of 5 years' experience in leading of labour relations programs and initiatives
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a multi - disciplinary team environment
  • Able to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization
  • Experience working in supporting an Inclusive and Diverse culture
  • Strong tactical background related to all facets of HR / LR
  • Strong understanding of HRIS systems including ability to run and analyze data
  • Energetic, creative, and professional with a positive outlook
  • Adaptable, willing to learn, self - motivated
