Summary Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer - Brazing you will develop and implement new and improved braze joint designs and brazing processes for use in the production of harsh environment sensors used in radiation monitoring and nuclear reactors. Your responsibilities will span from supporting daily production needs, to process improvements and larger projects such as new product introductions and capital equipment.

  • Serve as the SME and technical "owner" for brazing from joint design to process excellence
  • Lead/assist projects to improve process capability, reduce variation, and reduce overall costs
  • Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction) programs consisting of design, development, prototyping and manufacturing implementation
  • Provide brazing guidelines to design engineers and perform design verifications
  • Assess production trends and yield
  • Lead site failure analysis efforts and mentor others along the way
  • Support new equipment / upgrades from purchase through installation
  • Design and build / procure necessary tooling and fixturing
  • Own documentation packages that drive effective and efficient manufacturing processes

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, materials science, materials engineering, weld engineering, or mechanical engineering from an accredited university
  • 8 years minimum experience in Manufacturing, Process, Quality, or Technology roles

  • Expertise with various failure analysis tools and methods (XRF, FTIR, SEM, metallography, leak testing, optical microscopy)
  • Experience working within regulated industries (nuclear, aerospace, medical, ASME, ISO)
  • Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS a plus
  • Familiarity with SAP
