ENGIE are looking for a flexible, experienced Multiskilled Facilities Management Technician to join our team at the University of Leicester on a permanent basis. If you're the type of person who loves to work as part of a team on a wide variety of tasks from standard M&E work to changing light bulbs and fixing white goods - this could be the role for you! You will be from a trades background with one main trade and the confidence to undertake tasks from other disciplines too. You will also be happy to take part in an on call rota meaning you will be on call one week out of 4 or 5 once the team is established. You will also need to be able to communicate well and have some customer service skills.
What is your day to day?
Provide initial response to all Reactive Maintenance requests during normal working hours and Out of Hours as part of the On-call Out of Hours Rota.
Quarterly shower head & hose cleaning in accordance with L8 requirements (full training will be provided)
Monthly temperature monitoring of Hot & Cold water systems, weekly flushing of water outlets in all unoccupied rooms and various other planned maintenance tasks.
Effect repairs to building fabric, furniture, fixtures & fittings where noted / when reported.
Undertake minor repairs to faults reported within student bedrooms and shared kitchen facilities covering all elements of building Fabric, Fixtures & Fittings.
Attend to faults with domestic water supply & drainage systems / other plumbing works including but not limited to resolving blocked drains, changing taps, shower valves, etc.
Undertake contractor control duties on behalf of Engie; monitoring the activities of subcontractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
Support the wider maintenance team with ad-hoc reactive & PPM works as required.

Who are you?
Applicants will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring (DBS) check.
Trade qualification in Plumbing / Joinery / Electrical desirable but not essential.
Working knowledge of ACOP L8 desirable
Computer literate with good organisational and administration acumen.
Ability to prioritise & work effectively under pressure.
Full UK driving licence
