Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking expressions of interest for a Principal Network Engineer to join the team on a 6 month contract assignment. The role will be based in our centrally located office in Perth, Western Australia.

The role will lead the network team in early studies and high-level design project work, while also being a subject matter expert and point of reference during subsequent project phases.

We welcome hearing from those with extensive experience in the surface and underground mining / materials handling sector. Experience within Mineral processing and / or oil and gas petrochemical industry is also highly regarded.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the surface and underground mining / materials handling industry.
  • High-level network design (architecture, VRFs, VLANs, etc)
  • Physical and Logical network design (process control, EMS, corporate networks)
  • Wired and wireless networks (LTE, 5G, etc)
  • Remote Operations Centres
  • Supporting autonomous systems
  • Network redundancy protocols, routing (REP, RSTP, OSPF, etc)
  • Virtualisation
  • Cybersecurity
  • Future-proofing
  • Network switch design and configuration
  • Network management systems

Qualifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) will be highly regarded.
