Role Synopsis
BP's Peoples and Culture function is on a Modernization journey with a shift from SAP HR to Workday. You will be responsible for running of IT services using new technologies (Workday Studio, JBOSS Fuse, Data Grid on Open Shift, Amazon S3, and others) for critical HR data integrations to and from Workday. As the Payroll and Integrations Application Service Lead, you will experience working on a mostly BP-badged Dev/Ops Squad which will support the Workday integrations. You will work within a modern IT methodology using sprints to deliver user stories, build upon your Workday knowledge and have gain experience in Workday Studio related and Open Shift based technologies.
This role will give you visibility to many stakeholders within the organisation. Your responsibilities will include working with people teams, service providers, platform technicians within BP IT to develop integration solutions to address HR business challenges. You will gain insight and experience in deploying and leveraging technologies in support of modernization of BP HR.

Key Accountabilities
  • Perform activities supporting flow of HR data across multiple platforms including Workday Studio, Open Shift technologies (JBOSS Fuse, Jenkins, Data Grid), Amazon S3, Sterling File Gateway
  • Lead IT services for Payroll applications and integrations including due diligence activities for risk and maintaining application data within BP Configuration Management System
  • Workday and Open Shift configuration and code updates for integrations running across technologies
  • Contribute to product selections, roadmaps etc for business outcomes and future readiness
  • Drive leading practices and solutions for Workday and Open Shift-based integration services
  • Liaise with BP Procurement to negotiate, adhere and manage changes to commercial agreements with third parties for delivery of vendor services with continuous improvement
Desirable Education and Experience
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Workday Integrations certification or equivalent in other HR and Payroll Systems
  • 8-12 years with a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience
Required criteria
Understanding and hands on experience:
  • Workday Integrations certification or experience in other HR & Payroll system and willingness to apply knowledge to Workday
  • 2 years of Workday Studio based or Workday functional coding, configuration or equivalent experience
  • XML based files
  • Application services on Workday
  • Software development lifecycle (design security, design patterns for extensible and reliable code, automated unit and functional testing, CI/CD and telemetry)
  • Modern technologies like Cloud native, containers, serverless
  • Agile methodologies and IT tools especially JIRA, SLACK and Teams
  • Project delivery experience
  • Payroll products and services especially ADP Globalview
  • Web services, micro services, APIs and file transmissions (SFTP etc)
  • Change and release management concepts
  • Open Shift platform technologies such as JBoss Fuse, Jenkins, and Data Grid (or an appetite to learn these skills)
  • Collaborating with diverse internal and external groups which do not directly report to you and establishing strong relationships
  • Contributing to strategic technical thinking (product selections/roadmaps) which position BP HR to anticipate and meet future requirements
