Service Engineer - Industrial Gases - Heathrow, Middlesex UK - Highly competitive, +company vehicle, call out allowances, bonus and other benefits

My client is a leading global chemical and industrial gases company. Due to increased demand for their products and services along with incredible investment to support their growth they are looking for a proficient Service Engineer.

The Service Engineer will support customer engineering and maintenance on their industrial gases production & operations sites at Heathrow and in the South of the UK.

The role can either be home based or based at one of the company's depots at Heathrow. As part of the role you might be required to occasionally work away from home to meet business needs.

Due to the nature of the role, the person will be part of a call out rota to support engineering customers and emergency call outs 24/7. The company reward with a generous weekly call out allowance and additional uplifts for call outs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Respond to unplanned maintenance in a timely manner
  • Troubleshooting faults and preventative maintenance
  • Repair, installation and design of control of instrumentation systems
  • Support customers installation and commissioning activities for engineering projects
  • Maintain documentation in written and electronic form
  • Effective use of diagnostic tools to solve issues
  • Carry out electrical inspection and test on electrical systems.
Essential skills required:
  • Experienced working in a customer facing role and complying to safety standards
  • Service / Field Installation role experience
  • Proven understanding of PLC controlled systems, including fault finding and remote integration
  • Understanding of installations (cryogenic / generators / hydrogen systems)
  • Experienced working on pressurised systems in compliance with PSSR 2000 legislation
  • Qualified to work on field instrumentation in flammable atmospheres - COMPEX Approved
  • Excellent communication skills
  • G.C.S.E Maths, English, and Science
  • Has served a recognised Instrument Electrical apprenticeship.
  • HNC or NVQ equivalent in Electrical Electronic Engineering.
  • Valid Full driver's licence
  • IT literate with experience of SAP, Microsoft Office programmes
