ENGIE have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Accountant to be based in Newcastle NE12 8BX. This is a 12 month fixed-term role which involves working full-time. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Purpose

To ensure all UK group corporate tax compliance matters are dealt with in timely fashion and all returns are filed on time.

To assist with ad hoc tax planning projects where required (e.g. M&A work, internal group restructuring projects and international tax planning).

Main Responsibilities

Ensure all corporate tax returns are filed on time

Ensure relevant claims and group relief claims are submitted to HMRC

Responsible for providing current and deferred tax calculations for inclusion in the statutory financial statements

Responsible for all tax accounting/ disclosure for relevant group of companies

Prepare all corporate tax returns on Alpha Tax ready for review by the Tax Manager/Head of Tax

Submission of all CT returns to HMRC

Qualifications

Graduate preferred

ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent

Knowledge and Skills

Detailed knowledge of corporate tax including the Controlled Foreign Companies rules

Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and FRS101

Excellent knowledge of Alphatax and Onesource

Good knowledge of Capital allowances - ECA/CA/SP/Integral Features.

Awareness of international tax issues, Research and Development Expenditure Credit tax issues and taxation issues in the energy and property sectors

Advanced Microsoft Excel (including the ability to use Pivot Tables and Vlookups).

Experience

Extensive experience of corporate tax in an accounting firm/industry

Previous experience of providing tax calculations for inclusion within the statutory financial statements of large businesses

Experience in other areas of tax such as VAT, PAYE, CIS would be advantageous
