• Geologist within the Exploration Business Unit providing geological support to integrated technical teams within the exploration group.
• Conducts geological studies pertinent to understanding the petroleum systems within a basin and the potential of associated exploration prospects e.g. well log analysis and correlation, sequence and seismic stratigraphy, seismic interpretation, structural geology and basin modelling.
• Integrates geosciences data at all scales of investigation including thin section petrography though core scale petrophysics/sedimentology, log interpretation and correlation, seismic interpretation and regional depositional or diagenetic patterns.

• Responsible for all aspects of geological work programmes within an integrated subsurface framework. Daily tasks include:
• Well log analysis and correlations.
• Geological interpretation and seismic mapping
• Prospect mapping and generation.
• Structural and stratigraphic seismic interpretation.
• Construction of structural framework models.
• Reservoir characterisation and geological modelling.
• Volumetric assessment.
• Risking and resource uncertainty modelling, participating in technical QAs.
• Well planning and operational support.
• Post well analysis
• Monitoring and assisting with specialists and contractors to manage geological analysis projects.
• Geological aspects of internal/external business approvals (Internal/Partners/OGA etc.).
• Sharing knowledge and subsurface collaboration.
• Strong presentation and communication skills to effectively update management and key stakeholders
• Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager.

Educated to at least a Degree level in Geoscience with an MSc in a Geoscience subject preferred, or relevant PhD.
• Experience of practical geological interpretation experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Solid prospect maturation skills and experience.
• Sound working knowledge of exploration-related software packages and databases (Petrel, Arcgis, Geox Standard).
• Able to collate all available data, make reasoned interpretations from that data and propose viable alternatives.
• Expertise with geological aspects of the well planning process.
• Ability to make sound business recommendations to Management.
