ENGIE are recruiting for a Utilities Operation Engineer to be based at the Engie CHP Plant, Macclesfield, SK10 2NA. This is a permanent, full-time role to carry out work for the implementation and co-ordination of Engie, Client and Contractor activities requiring formal Safe Systems of Work such as Permits to Work, Confined Space Certificates, Hot Work Certificates and Lifting Plans. Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Co-ordinate the preventative, predictive and emergency maintenance work activities of appointed Contractors working on Site Drainage System in order to meet plant reliability and performance targets. Liaise with Client Asset Information Team to ensure that Site Utilities drawings and records are kept up to date
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective O&M procedures, operating instructions, drawings, Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the Site Utility Services
  • Contribute to the planning and management of plant outages, major overhauls, preventative maintenance schedules and routine maintenance activities ensuring alignment of Maintenance Strategy with that of the Client
  • Prepare and issue Safety Documentation in line with the agreed Site Schedule of Work
  • Diagnose and repair (or co-ordinate the repair of) faults on Site Drainage System
  • Provide Project Management, Planning and Technical Guidance at Client Site Utility Services Engineering Project (and associated) meetings - take ownership for allocated actions
  • Perform 6 monthly trade effluent sample collections on behalf of the Client to ensure compliance with the sites Trade Effluent permit
  • Manage annual ground remediation testing, requires control of contractors and inspection reports
  • Pro-active approach to SHEQ and identifying areas for improvement
  • Potentially provide ad-hoc and emergency on-call rota cover

Qualifications, Skills or Required Experience:
  • Minimum of BTEC National Certificate/City and Guilds Level 3 or equivalent but preferred Higher National Certificate in a Mechanical craft discipline
  • NVQ Level 3 in a craft discipline or equivalent
  • Knowledge and preferably proven experience and delivery of process plant operations, engineering and maintenance
  • Knowledge of CDM
  • A formal health and safety related qualification e.g. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • Good IT Skills having experience in operating a range of Systems including Microsoft Office Suite and Maintenance Management System
