Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our dynamic Stream Team in Florida.

Are you a water resources engineer who enjoys project design, especially in support of ecosystem restoration and more specifically in stream restoration? We have an excellent opportunity for a design engineer focused on technical problems, particularly stream restoration. In this position, you will design and analyze engineering projects, manage tasks, and develop new business opportunities.   • Responsibilities
     
    • Lead and mentor a team of early and mid-career engineers and scientists
    • Collaborate
    • Deliver quality products to clients on schedule
    • Conduct both field and office tasks associated with water-resources projects, particularly stream restoration projects
    • Use relevant technology
    • Prepare calculations, design and make recommendations for water-resources facilities
    • Author construction bid documents, technical documents, permit applications, and proposals
    • Must be able to manage and lead projects in a team environment
    • Must be able to market clients and prepare proposals
    • Commit to our "Beyond Zero" safety program


    Required Qualifications
     
    • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
    • Minimum ten (10) years of post-baccalaureate experience in engineering, particularly in stream restoration
    • Experience in a consulting practice
    • Registered Professional Engineer in Florida; or registered Professional Engineer in a different state, with the ability to obtain Florida registration within three months of employment
    • Trained project manager
    • Skilled communicator (oral and written) of technical information
    • Travel, as necessary; primarily within Florida
    • Clean drug screen
    • Successful background check
    • Safe driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
    • The position will preferably be centered at the Tampa or Lakeland, FL office, alternatively in Orlando or Gainesville. Flexibility to work remotely
    • Proficiency in using the Suite of MS Office products
    • Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate with clients, prepare reports and proposals


    Additional Preferred Qualifications
     
    • Graduate degree or degrees in engineering
    • Knowledge of Florida hydrology and Florida water-resources issues
    • Knowledge of fluvial geomorphology
    • Client relationships and project experience in Florida
    • Relationships with Florida's state environmental agencies, water management districts, Counties, and municipalities
