We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Boise ID who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients' business. You'll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client's expectations, scope, budget and schedule. You'll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will successfully deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products for building HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems.

General Tasks Performed:
•Performs and properly documents/annotates engineering calculations, both manual and computer generated
•Develops drawings for equipment layouts and facility systems and interconnects
•Generates P&IDs
•Selects discipline specific equipment and materials of construction
•Writes technical specifications
•Coordinates and resolves conflicts with other disciplines to deliver complete design package(s)
•Develops thorough understanding of the needs of the other disciplines
•Conducts code studies/analyses
•Refines communication and presentation skills, coordinates information flow within design team and across the disciplines
•Supervises and directs entry or intermediate level designers/drafters
•Can function as discipline lead engineer on smaller projects and supervise a small project team of entry level engineers and designers of any level

•Performs engineering calculations for sizing and selection of all discipline-specific systems and components
•Completes engineering designs with a moderate level of direct supervision
•Has working knowledge of industry codes and regulations
•Accurately interprets and understands drawings of other disciplines
•Demonstrates ability to take and give direction on task assignments and drive tasks to successful completion
•Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
•Ability to identify various options to solve technical problems, describe pros and cons of each option, and present to the work group and the project team

•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
•At least 1 year of practical application of mechanical engineering, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and related mechanical building systems
•Engineer in Training (EIT)

Ideally, you'll also have:
•Working knowledge of Revit software preferred
•Strong communication skills both verbal and written
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
•Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
•Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
•Passion for buildings and construction
•3-5 years of building mechanical experience desired
•Working on obtaining PE registration (PE ID registration desired)
