We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to work for North Ghawar Producing Department (NGPD). The candidate is expected to work within the Electrical Group Technical Support and Project Coordination Units.
NGPD's main function is to produce oil and gas in a safe and reliable manner utilizing the latest technologies while maintaining a motivated workforce. Electrical Distribution Systems plays a major role for NGPD to safely run its facilities and meet its oil and gas production targets in addition to other operational requirements.
The engineer will work with instrumentation and control system engineers, operation engineers, maintenance engineers, Reliability Unit engineers, contract engineers, and other disciplines as deemed necessary to enhance and resolve electrical discipline activities within the organization.
The successful candidate is expected to participate in organization and Company initiatives including safety programs, innovation programs, operational excellence, knowledge sharing, self-development, and other programs as required.
The successful candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 15 years plus related experience with Electrical Distribution Systems, including working experience with the ETAP software program.
Design and working experience with medium voltage (13.8 KV and 4.16 KV), low voltage (480V) power distribution equipment and motors, including relay protection, motor elementary and wiring diagrams, commissioning, and troubleshooting,
Design and working knowledge of VFDs, UPS, and DC systems, including troubleshooting and obsolete units' replacement.
Thorough knowledge of NEC and similar international codes for electrical distribution systems and strong experience with electrical substation designs, including buildings sizing and electrical equipment sizing, based on load requirements.
Working experience with project management and other departments to complete electrical distribution project activities from concept design to final construction stages.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be expected to be able to perform the following:
Coordinate with Operation and Maintenance to troubleshoot and repair or replace failed equipment.
Review design packages provided by design contractors to ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco standards and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for various stages of a project.
Coordinate with project execution agencies, vendors, and contractors on projects during all construction stages, and attend and support successful completion of FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and energization activities.
Prepare engineering design packages to replace minor equipment for in-house execution.
Prepare and support project submittals and design scoping papers involving upgrade or replacement of electrical systems in order to improve reliability, or to cope with load demand increase.
