Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Programs Inc. (WPI) is seeking an Environmental Site Manger / LEED Contractor Supervisor with the combined duties of managing overall Project compliance with Site Environmental Controls and the LEED - Silver Certification of select facilities. This role will be accordance with the Environmental Management Plan (01 57 19 - 1.6) developed for the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Complex (AAMDSC) Project in Redzikowo, Poland.

WPI is seeking a site-based professional to perform the Environmental Site Manager duties as outlined below. This individual will also monitor, direct, and support the LEED Subcontractor through daily surveillance and documentation of activities to validate adherence to protocols necessary to meet LEED SILVER (2009) Credit requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Update and implement the Project Environmental Management Plan
  • Coordinating subcontractor compliance with National, Regional, Local, and Station environmental requirements
  • Management regulatory notifications where appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with Hazardous Waste Program requirements (including hazardous waste handling, storage, manifesting, and disposal)
  • Ensure compliance with Waste Hazardous Materials (storage, handling, and reporting) requirements
  • Ensure inventory log of Contractor Hazardous Material Inventory is maintained current
  • Ensure disposal of all waste material is complying with local law, including segregation and removal of construction debris
  • Ensure the Dirt and Dust Control Plan is adhered to
  • Ensure that all Environmental Permits are obtained, maintained, and closed out
  • Ensure compliance with Storm Water Program Management requirements
  • Coordinate any remediation of regulated substances (lead, asbestos, PCB transformers) - This can be a collateral position; however, the person in this position must be trained to adequately accomplish the following duties: ensure waste segregation and storage compatibility requirements are met
  • Inspect and manage Satellite Accumulation areas
  • Ensure only authorized personnel add waste(s) to containers
  • Ensure all Contractor personnel are trained in 40 CFR requirements in accordance with their position requirements
  • Coordinate removal of waste containers
  • Maintain the Environmental Records binder and associated required documentation (i.e., environmental permit(s) compliance and close-out)
  • Attend Meetings and prepare Progress Reports
  • Weekly update the Site Progress and Erosion Control Photolog

Additional Scope Activities

The Environmental Manager will be responsible for generating Close -Out Submittals for the following:
  • Regulatory Notifications
  • Laboratory Analysis
  • Disposal Requirements
  • Solid Waste Management Permit(s)
  • Solid Waste Management Report(s)
  • Waste Determination Documentation
  • Contractor Hazardous Material Inventory
  • Disposal Documentation for Hazardous and Regulated Waste
  • Disposal Receipts
  • Revision and re-submission of negative

LEED Subcontractor Supervisor Duties

The LEED Subcontractor Supervisor will support the Wood PLC home office-based LEED AP with the following but not all-inclusive activities:
  • Implementation of the LEED Execution Plan
  • Maintenance and final assembly of LEED Documentation Notebook
  • Comprehensive site-based documentation and oversight of LEED Subcontractor to achieve Silver 2009 Credits


Skills / Qualifications

Key Qualifications
  • Must have familiarity and a working knowledge of large site development Civil Project requirements, specifically in Environmental Management
  • Familiarity with LEED Silver Certification process
  • Familiarity with USACE Quality Assurance Process (preference is given to candidates with current USACE CQM certifications)
  • Capable of maintaining a physical presence at the site at all times (this will require working in varying temperatures and weather conditions)
  • Must be comfortable with engaging US DoD clients, multi-cultural staff and subcontractors, and WPI/ Wood Senior Management
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in similar roles working on Construction Projects
  • International experience
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences, or the equivalent is desired
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills is a plus
  • Must have strong written and spoken communication skills (English)
  • Must be able to obtain, or currently holds a USG Secret Clearance (required)
